Belarus, Moldova to expand cooperation in agriculture

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Moldova intend to expand cooperation in agriculture and to implement ambitious joint projects. This issue was raised during a meeting between Belarusian Ambassador to Moldova Sergei Chichuk and Moldova's Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eduard Grama, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian embassy to Moldova.

During the meeting the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in agriculture. Moldova showed interest in Belarusian resource conservation technology in plant science and fodder production and would like to implement joint projects in design and construction of hi-tech dairy farms, and setting up animal reproduction laboratories.

Belarusian Ambassador to Moldova Sergei Chichuk and Moldova's Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eduard Grama also discussed the status of implementation of the agreements in agriculture signed during the visit of Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov to Moldova on 2-3 October 2016. They also considered the preparations for the regular session of Belarusian-Moldovan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

The parties agreed to step up work on promising joint projects within the framework of the bilateral working group on agriculture.
